A recent report by Universities Australia reported that "The cost of textbooks is overwhelmingly the most difficult study-related expense to afford for all student groups", and that a staggering 86% of full time undergraduates cannot afford course textbooks. This financial hardship impacts students' ability to study and succeed in their degrees as well as contributing to emotional stress.
